Looks like we’re not the only blog getting our Cordell Barker on!
People are getting very excited about the 30th Annual Genie Awards on Monday! Since it would be unfair to make everyone wait until 9 pm ET to watch the IFC broadcast and CBC.CA webcast (especially given the frenzy over a few of our presenters), we’ve decided to webcast LIVE FROM THE RED CARPET on Monday beginning at 4:30 pm ET. Sign up at the link for an email reminder.
The webcast will be hosted by the talented Dug Stevenson who did such a great job hosting our Toronto Nominee Reception webcast.
If you’re on Twitter, use #Genies in your tweets to join us in our Canada-wide Genie watching virtual living room couch chat!
Only 12 days until #Genies!
Over the next few days we’ll be posting some of the interviews from our Nominee Receptions.
Dug Stevenson talks with Ingrid Veninger at the Genie Awards Toronto Nominee Reception. Veninger is nominated for 2 Genie Awards - Best Motion Picture and Original Screenplay - for NURSE.FIGHTER.BOY.
If you caught our webcast on Monday you saw an interview we did with Gabrielle Rose whose been nominated for Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role for her work in Mothers&Daughters. Here’s a trailer for the film (warning: course language and a possible reference to cunnilingus).
Watch our live webcast tonight starting at 6:15pm ET from the Toronto Nominee Reception. Hosted by the hilarious Dug Stevenson it will include an opportunity for you to comment and ask questions in the chat. See you there!

The blog for CIUT’s show ‘The More the Merrier (TmTm) Arts Radio!’ has a poll asking if readers have seen the films nominated for Genie Awards this year. Check it out!
